People’s National Party’s provisional candidate for Western St. Mary, Errol Bascoe resigns

The People’s National Party’s provisional candidate for Western St. Mary, Errol Bascoe, has resigned.

This, following, what he described, as a recent scurrilous and malicious allegation levelled against him.

In a letter addressed to Party Leader, Mark Golding yesterday, Mr Bascoe said he is innocent of the accusation and he is confident that the truth will prevail in due course.

However, he said recognizing the potential impact on the Party’s reputation and the importance of prioritizing its interests, he has chosen to step aside as the candidate for Western St. Mary.

He said the decision would also allow him to dedicate his full attention to addressing the matter and clearing his good name.

Mr Bascoe expressed gratitude to the Party, its members and the people of Western St. Mary who have supported him throughout his journey.

He added that he remains committed to the principles and values of the Party.
