Parents to face delays in back-to-school shopping as distributor reports shortage of some books
Parents will face further delays in their back-to-school shopping, as the Sangster’s Book Store has reported a shortage in some MacMillan books.
The bookstore noted that it has been advised by the distributors of MacMillan titles that several of their books were unavailable on the island due to shipping delays.
Sangster’s Retail Sales Manager, Pauline Shuttleworth told IRIE FM news that the shortage, which is not only limited to textbooks, is due to logistical issues.
She also said the Russia-Ukraine war has compounded these issues.
In acknowledging that parents are becoming frustrated in their back-to-school shopping, Ms. Shuttleworth is encouraging them to contact the stores’ various branches before making visits.
