Opposition urges Jamaicans to check in with family and colleagues about their mental wellness
Opposition Spokesperson on Health and Wellness, Dr. Alfred Dawes, is urging Jamaicans to check in with their loved ones and colleagues about their mental wellness.
His call follows a number of suicides across the island in recent weeks.
Dr. Dawes is calling on Jamaicans to look out for one another.
Noting a simple conversation can save a life, Dr. Dawes said if anyone notices someone struggling, they should not hesitate to perform a wellness check.
He is also urging individuals who may be struggling to reach out for help.
