Opposition Spokesman on Transport implores public passenger operators, especially those carrying children to execute duties with utmost care.

Opposition Spokesman on Transport, Mikael Phillips is imploring public passenger operators, especially those carrying children to execute their duties with the utmost care.

Mr. Phillips’ plea came as the new academic year fully resumed yesterday.

He told IRIE FM news that with classes being back in session, there will be an increase in the number of vehicles on the roads, and as such, extreme caution and vigilance must be taken.

Mr. Phillips also noted that Jamaicans should not become complacent in efforts to keep this year’s road deaths below the 400 mark.

He stressed that all road users must act responsibly to save lives.
