Opposition MP Fitz Jackson commends BOJ for implementing  service standards for ABMs

Member of Parliament and advocate for improved banking service, Fitz Jackson, has commended the Bank of Jamaica for implementing a set of service standards for Automated Banking Machines, ABMs.

Mr. Jackson moved a resolution in Parliament seeking the intervention of the BOJ as it relates to having its clients rectify several issues with ABMs.

These issues that adversely affect customers include faulty machines, and machines running out of cash.

The BOJ issued its standards on Tuesday and client banking institutions have 9 months to become compliant with the guidelines.

speaking at a meeting of Parliament’s Economy and Production Committee, Mr. Jackson thanked the BOJ for delivering on one of the resolutions he sought in his motion.

Mr. Jackson pointed out that, when next, the committee meets, and representatives of the BOJ are present, he has several questions for the Central Bank to respond to, relating to ABMs.
