Opposition leader urges Jamaicans to treat each other with respect, to prevent conflicts
Opposition Leader Mark Golding has cited a ‘culture of disrespect’ as one of the contributors to crime and violence in the country.
Speaking yesterday (January 4, 2023), at the National Day of Prayer ceremony, Mr. Golding called on Jamaicans to be respectful of each other, while also refraining from being disrespectful.
Mr. Golding noted that many conflicts arise from a perceived lack of respect.
He said if everyone accepts the basic principle that all deserve respect, there would be fewer incidents of violence in the country.
