Opposition Leader to table bill seeking to amend child restraint provision under the new road traffic act

Opposition Leader Mark Golding is to table a bill in parliament this afternoon (February 7), seeking to amend the child restraint provision in the new road traffic act.

This, following protests by Public Passenger Vehicle (PPV), operators about the child seat and other requirements under the newly implemented act.

Mr. Golding has urged parliamentarians to support the bill to end what he described as unnecessary chaos on the nation’s roads.

Transport Minister Audley Shaw is also expected to make a statement in parliament today, addressing concerns over the new road traffic act.
