Opposition Leader calls on Jamaicans to defend Integrity Commission to prevent it from being undermined by JLP

Leader of the Opposition People’s National Party (PNP) Mark Golding has called on Jamaicans to staunchly defend the Integrity Commission to prevent it from being undermined by the ruling Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).

He said this was amid recent criticisms of the Commission by several Government officials including Robert Montague and Justice Minister Delroy Chuck.

Speaking at a PNP Divisional Meeting yesterday (June 18) in Discovery Bay, St Ann, Mr Golding said the JLP’s actions indicate something is amiss.

He called on the public not to allow the JLP to restrict the powers of the Commission which was developed to uphold honesty.

According to Mr Golding, the JLP is seeking to destroy the Commission, which he noted was piloted by his Party.
