Opposition calls for measures to be put in place to combat garbage pile-up

Opposition spokesperson on Local Government, Natalie Neita Garvey, is calling for measures to be put in place to combat the pile-up of garbage across the island.

Noting that the situation is hazardous to the public’s health, Mrs. Neita Garvey is urging Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie to take swift action, as numerous communities and business centres are being affected.

Meantime, Mrs. Neita Garvey has expressed disappointment in the National Solid Waste Management Authority.

She says the agency must do more to ensure proper solid waste management and disposal.
