Operations at hospitals across southeast health region back to normal as nurses end sickout

Operations at hospitals across the southeast health region appear to be back to normal this morning.

Last Friday, the Spanish Town, Kingston Public and the Victoria Jubilee Hospitals experienced declines in the number of registered nurses who showed up for work.

This, as several nurses staged a sickout, reportedly over issues relating to the compensation review.

Providing an update to IRIE FM news this morning, Regional Director of the Southeast Regional Health Authority, Errol Greene said normal operations have resumed.

Following last week’s sickout, the Finance Ministry scheduled a meeting for tomorrow with the Nurses Association of Jamaica.
