Olympian Yona Knight Wisdom is through to the next round of the men’s 3 Metres diving competition at the  2023 Pan American Games  in Santiago Chile. 

Wisdom qualified with a score 385.85 , to make progress with the seventh best score. 

However, he was not the only one to make progress in the water in the day, as Sabrina Lyn was the fastest qualifier in the women’s 100 metres freestyle clocking 57.99 seconds to advance.

Jamaica’s  young  reggae  girls  yesterday  crashed  to  a  7-nil  loss  to  Mexico 

Jamaica  trailed  3-nil  at  half  time  in  the  group  a  preliminary  round  encounter  and  will  be  back  in  action  on  Wednesday  against  Paraguay

In badminton the Jamaican pair of Tahlia Richardson and samuel Ricketts lost  one nil to the Mexican duo of Miriam Rodriquez and Luis Montaya, in the preliminary round of the mixed doubles event yesterday. 

The pair of Katherine Wynter and Richardson also lost  two love in the women’s doubles, and the male pair of Rickets and Bradley Evans were also beaten two love by the Brazilian duo of Davi Carvalho and Ruan Rocha.

It was also tough going for the Jamaicans in the singles event  ending   day three without a victory.

The Jamaican Richards was beaten 2-love in the round of 16 by the American Jenni Gai, while the other Jamaican Katherine Wynter suffered a similar loss to Rachael Chan of Canada. 

Jamaica’s super light-weight boxer Sanji Williams lost  to Angel Martino of Mexico after the referee stopped the fight , when the the Jamaican was knocked down early in round one.
