As the local government election approaches, Old Harbour Bay, in St. Catherine will be under special police watch.

That’s according to head of the St. Catherine South police, Senior Superintendent Christopher Phillips.

SSP Phillips said a lot of policing work needs to be done in the area.

He stated that with local government election campaigning under way, police presence will be ramped up in the community.

Meantime, SSP Phillips reported that last year, the division experienced noticeable reductions in major crimes.

However, he expressed dissatisfaction, with the level of crime plaguing the communities.
