NWC working with JPS to restore power to water systems
Minister of water Matthew Samuda says the National Water Commission (NWC) is working closely with the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) to restore power firstly to the systems that supply public facilities such as hospitals and airports.
This after Hurricane Melissa disrupted water supplies across the island.
Mr. Samuda said the commission is expected to complete the deployment of generators by tomorrow morning.
He said the NWC will commence trucking in western St. James by this evening.
He was speaking at a special press briefing this morning.
