The National Water Commission (NWC) says water restriction in the Corporate Area will remain in effect.

In July the NWC implemented water restrictions in sections of the Corporate Area as water levels at catchment facilities continued to decline.

NWC’s Acting Corporate Public Relations Manager, Delano Williams told IRIE FM News, that while there has been some improvement due to recent rainfall, the dam levels are not yet at sustainable levels to allow for the relaxation of regulations.

He says the Mona Reservoir is still under 50%, while the Hermitage Dam is at about 70%.
