NWC receives pipes valued at $1.3B
The National Water Commission, NWC, has received a shipment of pipes valued at $1.3 billion.
The large ductile iron pipes, which were procured and delivered by the contractor, Deryck A. Gibson limited, range in diameter, from 4 to 24 inches.
Water Minister Mathew Samuda said the pipes will be used on at least 9 project locations, island-wide.
Mr. Samuda said, with the delivery of this shipment of pipes, the NWC is closer to implementation of improvement projects, that will directly benefit thousands of Jamaicans, in both urban and rural communities.
