NWA clears blocked drain that led to flooding at Spanish Town Hospital
Work was carried out today to clear a blocked drain that led to the flooding of the Accident and Emergency Ward at the Spanish Town Hospital in St.Catherine.
The hospital was forced to relocate several patients due to the severe flooding last night.
The South East Regional Health Authority said the flooding was as a result of severe runoff from Burke Road due to heavy rainfall.
Water had accumulated on the road due to a blocked drain.
In an update at midday, Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton said the National Works Agency had been working to address the issue.
