NSWMA gets more new garbage trucks

The remaining 50 recently procured garbage trucks are now in the island.

They were cleared from the wharf today.

This brings to one hundred the total number of new trucks added to the National Solid Waste Management Authority’s fleet, over the past few months.

The increased fleet is intended to improve the NSWMA’s garbage collection efforts, thereby reduce complaints from residents.

The new trucks acquired since 2022 include cranes and tippers, which will aid in clearing dump sites and removing derelict vehicles.

Executive Director Audley Gordon told Iie F M News that the new trucks that came today will be processed over the next few weeks then deployed by month end.
