Normality restored to the public transport sector
Normality was restored to the Public Transport Sector this morning, ahead of a meeting of stakeholders at the Transport Authority’s Head Office in Kingston.
The meeting follows yesterday’s withdrawal of service by some operators.
The operators are concerned about the suspension of their driver’s licenses, for accumulating demerit points, among other issues.
This morning, Transport Minister Daryl Vaz thanked the operators for letting good sense prevail and returning to their duties.
He expressed hope that there won’t be a repeat of the strike while noting that there was no winner from yesterday’s events.
