As Jamaica awaits today’s sentencing of Noel Maitland, the Constable’s attorney is urging presiding judge Leighton Pusey to consider the possibility of rehabilitation.
Maitland is at the Supreme Court in Kingston awaiting sentencing for the murder of his girlfriend, 24-year-old Donna-Lee Donaldson, who was reported missing in July 2022.
He was found guilty of Donaldson’s murder and preventing the lawful burial of her corpse.
Maitland entered the courtroom at 10:56 AM, clad in a grey suit and a black dress shirt.
His attorney, Christopher Townsend, began presenting the mitigation statement shortly after.
Donaldson’s mother, Sophia Lugg, along with other family members are among the individuals present in the courtroom and awaiting the sentencing.
