The long-awaited start of the National Basketball League (NBL) is over, as the competition missing over the last three years is set to tip off on June 17 at the National Stadium Courts with significant sponsorship support.

At yesterday’s official launch the Jamaica Basketball Association received a cash injection worth 6.2 million dollars to restart the competition that will feature 10 teams, including defending champions St Georges Slayers.

The sports development foundation came on board to the tune of 4 million dollars, Phoenix Health and Vision Center supported with 1 million dollars, while Lasco Jamaica and Gatorade joined forces with 620 thousand dollars each.
