Murder suspect among 6 men arrested during operations in Manchester

Six men, including a murder suspect, were arrested during separate operations in Manchester this morning (April 15).

 

In the first operation at about 3 AM, police mounted a roadblock along the Devon main road, and intercepted a Toyota Probox motorcar with six men aboard.

 

Five of the men were arrested while the other escaped.

 

Police theorize that the men were involved in burglaries, targeting houses and bars.

 

This, as a crowbar, an undisclosed sum of cash, cigarettes, liquor, and poker box parts were reportedly found in the car.

 

It is further reported that the police went to a location where they seized two additional poker boxes.

 

The men are said to be from Greenvale, George’s Valley and Coleyville in Manchester, as well as Leeds in St Elizabeth.

 

Hours later, the police conducted another operation in Chudleigh, where a man believed to be involved in the murder of 51-year-old Anthony Williams was apprehended.

 

Williams, a farmer and resident of the Chudleigh housing scheme was killed on Monday, April 10, while walking home.

 

He was pounced upon by gunmen, who opened fire hitting him several times.
