Motorist who mowed down teen boy in Westmoreland urged to surrender to police
A call is being made for the motorist who mowed down a 16-year-old boy in Top Road, Little London, Westmoreland on Friday to surrender to the police.
The teen has been identified as Zayne Foster.
Police say at about 8: 30 pm, Zayne went to make a purchase at a shop, which is located close to the roadway.
After completing his purchase, the teen who was exiting the shop was hit by a motorcar.
The driver did not stop.
Zayne was pronounced dead at hospital.
Member of Parliament (MP) for Western Westmoreland Morland Wilson has expressed sadness at the teen’s death.
The MP is appealing to persons who witnessed the incident to assist the police in their investigations.
Mr. Wilson is also reminding motorists that it is illegal to flee the scene of an accident.
With Jamaica observing the Emanci-pendence Holiday, Mr. Wilson urges road users to act responsibly to prevent injury and death.
