The Ministry of Health is reporting that over 3, 000 suspected, presumed and confirmed cases of dengue fever have been reported in the island as at November 6.

Portfolio Minister Dr Christopher Tufton made the revelation at a press conference this morning.

More than 800 of the cases are confirmed to be positive.

He said 9 dengue-related deaths have been reported with 7 suspected and 2 confirmed.

He said St Thomas has the highest rate per 100, 000 thousand population followed by Portland.

In the meantime, Dr. Tufton said 72 persons were hospitalized in the last week.
