MOEY implements new mechanisms to ensure that teachers employed to schools at short notice are paid on time this month
The Education Ministry says it has implemented new mechanisms to ensure that teachers employed to schools at short notice are paid on time this month.
With several teachers resigning from their posts, especially without the required notice, schools across the country have been working overtime to fill the vacancies.
In a release (September 19), the Education Ministry said under normal circumstances, for a teacher to be paid in a particular month, the employment documents must be submitted by the last working day of the previous month.
However, given that many new teachers were employed this month, the Ministry extended the deadline for submission to September 12, and deployed the accounting staff to work overtime and on weekends to process the submissions.
The Ministry says it understands the importance of salary payments to teachers and pledged to take the necessary actions to ensure payments are received.
