The Mining Ministry intends to expand the Reynolds Pier in Ocho Rios, St. Ann to facilitate an expected increase in limestone exports.  

Portfolio Minister Floyd Green noted that Jamaica is a main supplier of limestone to the United States, and as such, efforts will be made to better meet the growing demand.

Minister Green was speaking during an interview with Irie FM News.

Last Friday, the Minister toured the  MV Ireland, the largest bulk cargo ship to ever call on Jamaica, while it was docked at the Reynolds Pier.

Mr Green said 2023 has been the biggest year for Jamaica’s limestone exports.
