Meeting between Nurses Association of Jamaica and Finance Ministry being arranged to address outstanding compensation issues
A meeting between the Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ) and the Finance Ministry is being arranged to address outstanding issues relating to the Government’s compensation review.
This, after a Ministry representative reportedly reached out to the NAJ yesterday.
The public health nurses had given Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke until last Friday to make contact.
They are frustrated with the length of time it is taking for the Ministry to implement some items on which an agreement has been reached.
The nurses claim that the matter has been compounded, following the receipt of a letter from the Ministry, which indicated that some items already agreed to are being reviewed.
Speaking with IRIE FM news this morning, NAJ President, Dawn Marie Richards said the nurses are hoping that the meeting with the Ministry will take place early this week.
