Mckenzie urges residents to be cautious against Covid-19 throughout yuletide season

As the country gets ready, to celebrate its first restriction-free Christmas, in two years, Local Government Minister, Desmond Mckenzie, is urging Jamaicans, to observe Covid protocols, where possible.

In March 2020, when Covid-19 entered the country’s borders, the government implemented several rules, under the disaster risk management act, to reduce the spread of the virus.

This included restrictions to gatherings, even during the yuletide season.

Speaking at a tree lighting ceremony, in St Mary last evening, minister Mckenzie warned, that although Jamaica is recovering from the impacts of the pandemic, citizens should still take the necessary steps, to protect themselves.
