May Day High to work with stakeholders to provide proper parking for school buses after student mowed down last week

Principal of the May Day High School in Manchester, Stanford Davis, says he will be working with stakeholders, including the Education Ministry, to provide proper parking for school buses after a student was mowed down last week.

14-year-old Lakeea Thompson succumbed to injuries she sustained after being hit by a Toyota motor truck on the May Day main road in the parish on Friday.

Police say that at about 3: 30 PM, Thompson was attempting to cross the roadway when she was struck by a reversing coaster bus.

She was taken to the Mandeville Regional Hospital, where she died while undergoing treatment.

Mr. Davis revealed that the school board has been in discussion about resolving space constraints at the school

He further expressed condolences to the family and relatives of the student.
