Manchester police do walk-through in St. Toolis community following fatal shooting on Monday

The Manchester police conducted a walk-through in the community of St. Toolis yesterday, to reassure residents and address concerns following a police fatal shooting, on Monday.

According to police they acted on intelligence, went to a premise in the community to execute a search warrant.

Lawmen alleged that the men engaged them in an armed confrontation and gunfire was returned.

Three men were killed during the confrontation.

They are: 23-year-old, Byron McDonald otherwise called “savage” a farmer of Cotterwood District, St. Elizabeth, 17-year-old Rasheed Johnson and 26-year-old Tishawn Porteous also a farmer, both of St. Toolis District.

Residents protested following the fatal shooting.

During yesterdays visit, Commanding Officer for the parish, Superintendent Carey Duncan noted that police presence will be boosted in the community.

Superintendent Duncan also advised residents to promptly report any suspicious individuals in the community to the authorities.
