Lorne Donaldson has been officially appointed head coach of the Senior Reggae Girls team.

The Executive of the Jamaica football federation agreed that Donaldson is the most suited candidate for the job,  to lead the senior women’s national team in the upcoming Concacaf women’s qualifiers for the FIFA women’s World Cup next year.

His backroom staff will be named soon. Lorne replaces Vin Blayne who resigned recently.

The Concacaf qualifiers in Monterry Mexico this summer from july 4 to 18, will be Donaldson’s first assignment in charge.

Jamaica is drawn in a tough group A’ alongside hosts Mexico, world champions United States and Caribbean neighbours Haiti.

The Reggae girls will open their campaign against Mexico on July 4, before facing the USA  on July 7 and Haiti on July 11 in the preliminary round.

The top two teams from the two groups will qualify directly to the World Cup, while the third-placed teams will qualify for the inter-continental playoffs.
