The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation says it continues to demolish buildings that pose a risk to the public.

Mayor of Kingston, Delroy Williams said compromised structures were being demolished even before the recent earthquakes.

He said it is a common practice of the Municipality to demolish structures once they pose a potential danger to persons around them.

Speaking during a tour of the area on Thursday, the Mayor added that the demolition of the structures is governed by law.
