In the wake of concerns expressed by persons who were charged for crimes, and have turned their lives around but are being hampered by a criminal record, the Justice Ministry is reviewing the expungement stipulations. 

Portfolio Minister Delroy Chuck gave the update today while making his contribution to the Sectoral Debate in Parliament.

Currently, only certain categories of crimes can be expunged.  

Mr. Chuck noted that the matter will be taken to cabinet for deliberation.
