JPS still assessing full extent to which last evening’s squall line impacted its infrastructure
The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) says it is still assessing the extent to which last evening’s squall line impacted its infrastructure.
The weather system impacted the island amidst ongoing power restoration activities by the utility company.
Speaking with IRIE FM News, JPS’ Director of Corporate Communications, Winsome Callum says there have been reports of power outages in several parishes.
She says JPS teams are responding to the reports.
Ms. Callum says while it is too early to state how the squall line will impact the overall power restoration timeline, the JPS team remains committed to reconnecting customers to the grid.
