Attorneys representing Jamaica Labour Party candidate for North East St. Ann, Matthew Samuda, have filed a defamation lawsuit against People’s National Party Caretaker for the constituency, Dr. Ryan Simpson.

The suit which was filed yesterday in the Supreme Court, is in relation to alleged comments the PNP Caretaker made about Mr. Samuda on social media.

Senator Abka Fitz Henley who is managing Mr. Samuda’s communications confirmed the filing of the suit.

He said a second lawsuit could also be filed against Dr. Simpson.
