JAS President expresses concern about membership of newly-established independent Electoral Review Committee
President of the Jamaica Agricultural Society, Lenworth Fulton has some concerns about the membership of the newly established independent JAS Electoral Review Committee.
The Committee, Chaired by Attorney-At-Law, Donahue Martin is tasked with reviewing the processes involved in conducting the Annual General Meeting, and the election process to ensure a seamless transition of leadership.
The JAS is dealing with three court cases and there are concerns about the delegate’s list.
Mr Fulton, while welcoming the establishment of the Committee, believes more persons with hands-on experience in agriculture should have been selected.
Portfolio Minister Floyd Green says the Committee’s membership will ensure the review process will adhere to the highest standards of credibility and fairness, utilizing the Constitution and the JAS Incorporation Act, as guides.
