Jamaica’s Reggae boyz hammers Grenada 4-1 in Concacaf Nations League ‘A’ match up

Jamaica’s reggae boyz last night completed a routine 4-1 win on the road against group b rivals Grenada to virtually secure their place in the quarterfinals in league ‘a’ of the Concacaf Nations league.

The opening goal was scored by Kevon lambert after 12 minutes after which Shamar Nicholson doubled their advantage 10 minutes later.

The deficit was cut in half by midfielder Trevon Williams in the 30th minute but second half goals by Demarai gray and captain Bobby Reid saw the reggae boyz coming away comfortable winners. 

The Jamaicans with the result remained at the top of the table on 7 points from 3 games.

Elsewhere Haiti played to a one-all draw with Suriname to remain 4th on 3 points.

The reggae boyz in the meantime will now journey to Trinidad where they will play Haiti on sundae.

The top two teams at the end of group stage will advance to the nations league quarterfinals…where they will join the four top-ranked league a national teams.

The winners of the quarter-final match-ups which will be played in a home-and-away format will advance to the nations league finals and will also qualify for the 2024 Conmebol Copa America.  

The other two participants will be determined via a single direct elimination play-in between the four losing quarterfinalists.
