Jamaican actor Oliver Samuels receives Living Legend Award
Jamaican actor, Oliver Samuels was honoured with a Living Legend Award last evening for his 54 years of service to the country’s culture and the performing arts.
Dubbed the King of Jamaican comedy, Mr Samuels gained prominence through the TV show “Oliver at Large” in the 1980s.
He was awarded by Jamaican beer company, Red Stripe at the Little Theatre in St. Andrew, where many of his performances have been viewed.
In expressing gratitude, the veteran actor said he appreciates the formal recognition, especially on the stage where his career started.
Mr. Samuels dedicated his award to his colleagues, supporters and Jamaicans.
