JamaicaEye website affected by cyber attack
The Ministry of National Security has confirmed that a cyber-incident, affected access to the JamaicaEye website.
However, the ministry says this website is not connected, in any way, to the central infrastructure of the surveillance system.
As such, there has been no compromise to any video footage or evidence recorded by the Jamaica Eye cameras.
It noted however, that the ministry is unable to confirm if data, related to persons registering their interest to partner with JamaicaEye, have been exfiltrated.
In a release on Sunday morning, the ministry said its team of experts along with the Jamaica Constabulary Force and the Major Organised Crime & Anti-Corruption Agency, (MOCA) are evaluating the extent of the breach.
