Jamaica International Atlanta Primus joins Championship Club Southampton City Lionesses

Jamaica international Atlanta Primus fresh from her World Cup exploits will join Barclays Women’s championship Club Southampton from London City Lionesses.

Primus who helped Jamaica secure their first ever point in the competition represented Chelsea FC before heading to California State University, Fullerton in the United States back in 2016.

There she made 72 appearances, scored 25 goals and became the all-time programme assist leader, MVP and team captain over four seasons.

Returning to the UK, Primus joined  London City Lionesses in September 2020, going on to make 58 appearances for the side and netting 15 goals.

Before switching her national team allegiance to Jamaica, Primus also represented England in their youth pathway, making appearances at under-15, under-17 and under-19 level.

Her first call-up for Jamaica saw her impress in a friendly against Costa Rica, with her performances in the domestic league and in a reggae girls shirt earning her a place in their recent World Cup Squad.
