Holness says there is a lack of human resource to manage construction in an efficient way
Prime Minister Andrew Holness says aside from regulatory and permit hurdles, Jamaica faces a management challenge, with infrastructure.
He says the management challenges range from the pre-construction work to the actual construction phase.
He was speaking during a meeting with this year’s National Housing Trust construction scholarship recipients, who are pursuing degrees in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, and urban planning.
Dr Holness points to a lack of human resource to manage construction in an efficient way.
Dr Holness also emphasised that Jamaica needs contractors.
He said there is a need for contractors who can take on large projects.
