Health Ministry investigating suspected monkeypox related death
The Health Ministry is investigating a suspected Monkeypox related death.
While noting that the death was recorded last week, the Ministry said further information is not available.
Meantime, Jamaica has recorded 5 additional confirmed monkeypox cases.
The cases were recorded last week, and are for 1 female and 4 males.
Two of the new cases were recorded in Kingston and St. Andrew, and 1 each in Manchester, St. Elizabeth and St. James.
8 monkeypox cases are active.
And there has been 1 more recovery.
And, President of the Medical Association of Jamaica, MAJ, Dr. Brian James said its not surprising that Jamaica has recorded 5 additional cases of monkey pox and a suspected monkey pox related death.
Dr. James is recommending that citizens take steps to protect themselves.
