Hansle Parchment and Stephanie-Ann McPherson named Captains of Jamaica’s World Championship Team
Tokyo Olympic 110 metre hurdles gold medal winner Hansle Parchment and 400 metres finalist in Tokyo Stephanie-Ann McPherson have been named captains of Jamaica’s team at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene Oregon.
The 2022 world athletics championships will get underway on Friday at the hayward field stadium and will see the first Jamaicans in action on the opening day in the mixed 4 by 400 metres relay.
In the meantime two members of Jamaica’s team could mess the championships………….100 metres alternate Jelani Walker is reported to have tested positive for covid-19 and has been advised to remain away from the camp until he is advised by the medical team.
Discus thrower Chad Wright is experiencing visa issues and is not expected to make the trip.
Meanwhile, 400 metres runner Gregory Prince only received his U.S. visa yesterday and is expected to depart later today.
