Hanover police concerned as April murders spike
The Hanover police are reporting that April is shaping up to be the month with the highest number of murders.
Five people have been killed in separate incidents over the past 2 weeks.
This is already more than what the police recorded for each month, in the first quarter of this year.
Speaking during Thursday’s monthly meeting of the Hanover Municipal Corporation, Deputy Superintendent of Police Carl Brown said this is a cause for concern.
DSP Brown said 10 of the 13 murders recorded in the parish since January were committed in the Green Island area.
He said the community has been a crime hot spot for some time.
