Gov’t seeking to implement measures to deal with adults who display bad behavior at schools
Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the government intends to implement measures to ensure that no adult enters any school compound in the island, and displays bad behaviour and get away with it.
He made the statement while speaking at the Exchange Primary School in St. Ann, yesterday.
The Prime Minister’s comment follows an incident involving a parent and police officers at a primary school in St. Catherine on Monday.
The police were reportedly summoned by a school administrator seeking assistance to remove a disruptive parent.
A video showing the parent and police officers in a tussle at the school, has been circulating on social media.
The woman was subsequently charged for assault and resisting arrest.
Mr. Holness said bad behavior by adults who visit schools is embarrassing and unacceptable.
Mr. Holness said schools must be defended as zones of good behaviour.
