Gov’t issues all-clear, appeals to supermarkets and pharmacies in less affected areas to reopen where possible
Following guidance from the Met Service of Jamaica and the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), the Government has issued an all-clear for the island.
This means all utility companies should now commence restoration and recovery operations across the island.
Minister of Information Dr. Dana Morris Dixon noted that these companies and other critical service entities have been advised to mobilize immediately to restore power, water, and communication networks.
She further underscored that the Government is also encouraging entities such as supermarkets and pharmacies in the less affected areas to reopen where possible.
