Government reviewing draft report from National Violence Prevention Commission as efforts continue to deal with violence
The Government is reviewing a draft report from the National Violence Prevention Commission, as efforts continue to deal with violence.
Information Minister, Robert Morgan made the disclosure during this morning’s Post-Cabinet press briefing following questions about the Government’s targeted initiatives to reduce violence in schools.
The National Violence Prevention Commission was mandated to carry out comprehensive reviews of existing, public and private violence-prevention programmes.
It is intended to identify gaps and make recommendations that would improve violence prevention efforts in the country.
Reacting to the concern, Mr. Morgan pointed to the Commission’s draft report and stressed that several programmes are being undertaken through the Education and National Security Ministries.
He noted, however, that an all-hands-on-deck approach is needed to address the issue effectively.
