Government reports seamless start to new academic year

The Education Ministry is reporting that the new academic year got off to a seamless start this morning (September 4).

According to the Ministry, there has been no report of any issue at the island’s schools so far.

Portfolio Minister Fayval Williams visited several corporate area schools as part of her first day of school activities.

Her first stop was the Half-Way-Tree Transport Centre to observe students boarding the new electric school buses.

The schools on her tour this morning were Tarrant High, Mountain View Primary, Hope Valley experimental and Jacks Hill Primary schools.

The Education Minister reported that the Mountain View Primary and Infant School in St Andrew began the new academic year with the full complement of teachers.

Her comment came amidst continued concerns over the resignation of teachers.

Mrs. Williams said she is pleased that this is not an issue at the Mountain View Primary and Infant School.
