Government on a drive to establish retention ponds to combat climate change – Green
Agriculture Minister Floyd Green says the government is on a drive to establish retention ponds to tackle drought and climate change across the island.
He says due to climate change, areas prone to rainfall, have started to see a massive reduction.
The agriculture minister notes that the aim is to set up catchment areas that will be used to water farm crops.
He urges farmers who are aware of an area that is in need of a retention pond, to contact the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) or their member of parliament.
