February 2 trial set for alleged Klansman gang leader Tesha Miller

Alleged leader of the Klansman gang, Tesha Miller, and his 24 co-accused are to go on trial starting February 2.

Justice Dale Palmer confirmed the new date when the matter was called up in the home circuit court today.

It comes after prosecutors advised that they were not trial ready.

The trial was slated to begin on January 7, but has been delayed due to several issues such as outstanding documents and cell phone forensic evidence.

While delivering his ruling, Justice Palmer stated that he considered submissions from defence attorneys who detailed instances of being barred from bringing electronic devices into correctional facilities.

The attorneys said this impeded their ability to review evidence with their clients.

Miller and his co-accused are facing several charges for offences under the anti-gang legislation, murder and robbery.
