English Premier League season kicks off on August 11

Treble winners Manchester City face a reunion with former Captain Vincent Kompany as they kick off the 2023/24 English Premier League season away at newly-promoted Burnley on Friday, August 11.

The game at Turf Moor is the first installment of a bumper opening weekend that also sees Reggae Boy Leon Bailey and his teammates at Aston Villa on the road against Newcastle United on Saturday August 12.

In other marquee games, Mauricio Pochettino takes on Liverpool in his first game as Chelsea manager,  last season’s runners-up Arsenal host Nottingham Forest, while Manchester United entertain Wolverhampton Wanderers in the first Monday night fixture of the season.

The first meeting between Manchester City and Arsenal is at the Emirates Stadium on October 7 before the Gunners travel to the Etihad on March 30.

The first North London derby of the season between the gunners and Tottenham takes place at the Emirates Stadium on September 23 while Liverpool host Everton in the first Merseyside Derby on October 21.

In other marquee fixtures…….Manchester United welcomes Manchester City to Old Trafford on October 28 for the first installment of the Manchester Derby…………United and Liverpool meet on December 16 and April 6, while City and Liverpool renew their rivalry on November 25 and March 9.

The Premier League season concludes on may 19, with Manchester City against West Ham United and Arsenal versus Everton among the final-day fixtures.
